What are the times I can rent the Kenilworth Assembly Hall?

Rental hours are from 8:00 am – midnight. All events need to end at midnight due to the Village of Kenilworth sound ordinance. 

How many people can the hall hold?

Our grand ballroom can accommodate 200 guests for a seated dinner or 300 for a stand up cocktail hour. All capacities are subject to the floor plan chosen.

What is included in the rental?

We provide the space, tables, chairs, ivory china, silverware, the use of two bars, all glassware and an on-site staff member. We also set up the room with all the tables and chairs, per your final floor plan, prior to your arrival. We then break down all the tables and chairs, as well as clean up after your event.

Can I have my ceremony or cocktail hour outside?

Yes! One of our unique features is our stunning outdoor space. For $500, you can rent the entire lawn and set up chairs, a bar, even a tent if you like. The possibilities are endless! 

Where can my guests park?

Monday – Friday, guests can park anywhere on the streets surrounding the Assembly Hall after 10:00 am. On the weekends, all the streets around the Assembly Hall are available including the Metra station parking spacesThe rear entrance parking spaces are reserved for staff and deliveries. 

Do you have preferred caterers?

Yes! Please review our preferred caterers page for the list.

Can I choose a caterer not on the list?

You must choose one of our preferred caterers for your event. Specialty items like wedding cakes can be brought in if coordinated with your chosen caterer.  

Do you have preferred vendors for flowers, photography and music?

You are welcome to work with the vendors of your choice for floral design, photography and music; we have referrals if recommendations are needed, as we work with many wonderful vendors regularly and are happy to guide you toward event professionals who fit well with your vision of your special day.

Are there any restrictions when planning our decorations?

We try to be as accommodating as we can when it comes to decorating. Let us know your ideas and we will do everything we can to try and make it possible! We do not allow glitter or small confetti that can get stuck in the floor boards. All candles/open flames must be enclosed in sturdy glass vessels. Being a historic building, nothing can be nailed into the walls and we have to be mindful of using other items for hanging decorations that may cause harm to the building. Feel free to ask the Assembly Hall manager if you have any questions or concerns.

Can I tour the facility?

Yes – we encourage it! We are available for tours Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional weekend visits can be made by calling our event manager at 847.251.1691, ext. 1.

What payments are due at the time of signing?

50% of the contract total is due at signing. The remaining balance will be calculated 30 days before the event, taking in consideration the final guest count and any other changes made since the original signing. The balance will then be due one week later.

What happens if my event is canceled?

•90 days or more before event: Full refund of initial deposit
•60-89 days before event: 50% refund of initial deposit
•59 days or fewer before event: Initial deposit forfeited
